hills above Florence by Piazzale Michelangelo, known as Poggio Imperiale,
just 10-15 minutes walk from the Ponte Vecchio and the Uffizzi Gallery.
The country residences of wealthy Florentine families dating back to the
Renaissance were concentrated in the hills above the city. A narrow
labyrinth of winding roads take you past stone-walled gardens concealing
